DOG LOVER

I went and saw Marley and Me last night with Kyleigh and her fiend Lilly. I never read the book but being a dog lover I knew I would enjoy the movie. It was cute but boy was that dog naughty. I know I give Jenn's dog Riley a hard time but this dog takes the cake at being BAD. The movie was rated PG and I was surprised at all the bad language and sexual innuendo's that were in the show. I would have listed it under a PG-13 rating. I guess they are just letting alot of stuff slide now.
With life comes death and we all know that dogs don't live as long as we do but It's always sad to see a dog being put to sleep. Not to mention even sadder when you actually see them administer the anesthesia and see the dog die. Talk about a tear jerker. I always think of my first dog Rags and how much I miss him and knowing that Macey is getting older and that will just kill me to loose her. So go see the movie but remember to bring your kleenex because your going to cry like a baby for sure.

MERRRY MERRY

Christmas came and went. I wasn't with family but I did spend it with friends. I was invited to Christmas Eve dinner with some people in the church ward and then went over to the Roberts for a christmas morning breakfest. That was fun seeing the kids open their presents. I laugh that Santa Clause didn't come to their house but Ed Hardy did. They got every piece in their collection--both kids and parents. If you don't know what Ed Hardy it's a really high end clothing line that's really trendy right now. I later went to the movie and saw the curiousious case of Benjamin Button. It was good---a little long but I love Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchette. If you see it just be prepared to sit for three hours. The day was good untill I made a bad decision and stopped off at a fast food resturant and ended up with a bad case of food posioning. I have never felt so bad. The night was long and the next day wasn't even better. But Saturday morning I felt better and ended up going back to work. I heard there was a 24 hour bug going around so I dont' know if it was that or food posioning for sure but whatever it was it wasn't pretty. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and hope that Santa found everyone.

TEAM BRITNEY

I love Britney Spears--she is so talented and ya her personal life isn't the best but the girl can sing--not necessarily live but on her albums she does her thing. I would suggest everyone get her new album Circus. I love it and haven't even heard the entire album because I already have favorite songs I can't stop listening to them. GO TEAM BRITNEY!!!!

TIMES ARE GETTING CRAZY

The ressession is in full swing and the ecomony is super crappy. I am really blessed that my job is secure. The cliental at the country clubs haven't really been hit that hard and are still coming in for their weekly massages. I'm glad I made the switch of jobs finding out that the hotel industry is expecting all time lows for 2009. With all three jobs that I have all three companys have cancelled their christmas parties for this year. Toscana Country Club just announced that everyones jobs will be secure but they will not be contributing any money to the 401K for 2009. I'm glad that gas has come down but you know it's bad when McDonald's $1.00 doubble cheeseburger is no longer $1.00. It's now $1.19.

TWILIGHT AT MIDNIGHT

Twilight came out Friday and I went to the midnight show. I knew I wouldn't have to arrive early knowing that it isn't as big down here in the Desert and there wouldn't be any lines. But the crowd was great. It was obvious that there were alot of guys in the crowd that hadn't read the book. There was alot of cheering and alot of laughter at the funny expressions by Edward and Jasper. I liked the cast with the exception of "Mike" he was not cute at all and I wonder why he was cast. But it was entertaining and I think that everyone who has read the book needs to go see it. I think that people who have'nt gotten into the series will think it is a little goofy.
Edward is so freaking hot I had to refrain from expressing that out loud. Knowing that the person next to me proably wouldn't appreciate that. I thought Kristen Stewart did Bella perfect. She looked great and as I was swooning over Edward the boys next to me were going gaga for Bella. I will definetly buy the DVD and would be excited to know if they were going to contuinue making more movies in the series.

BUSY CHICK

I have been a super busy girl. I have been working a ton and the other day actually worked at all three of my jobs in one day. I have been doing training at Toscana in the mornings and then head off to the Westin for massages. I have been trying to study for a test that management is making us take at the Westin. It is a quiz on hotel knowledge and knowing the hotels mantra's and mission statements although they have like 5 different statements they want me to memorize along with other stuff they want me to know. If anyone knows me they know that I hate tests and will do anything to get out of taking them. But I have been told that I have to take this one and get 80%--wish me luck.
Another thing that is going to keep me busy is figuring out my new phone that I got. It's a Palm Centro and it's like a mini computer. There is going to be alot of trial and error to figure this one out. So far I have had to call the Palm hotline to figure out how to get the phone to ring. This is not a good sign!!!!!

TRUE FAN--CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE

I'm a Bella! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!

VOTE!!!!!

This upcoming Tuesday is going to be life changing for everyone. I know that I am planning on voting and still don't know what canidate is the better one to choose but I know that my vote counts and that I need to make a decision one way or the other. It reminds me of being back in Jr. High when students ran for student counsel and made promises that they would make lunch breaks longer and that they would serve better food at the cafeteria knowing that there was no way that they could make thoes changes. I think that the race to the white house is the same. Once whoever gets there will realize that they can't make the changes they promised and just try to make the best of a bad situation. I know that I learned this lesson when I became a manager at a spa and realized what my past bosses had gone through. And that it is harder than you think to manage and make big desisions that will work once put into the position. But I do know that we need a change for the nation and I'm glad that the Bush administration is almost over. So get out there and VOTE!!!!

NEW JOB

I got a new job at Toscana Country Club. I'm really excited about the position. I will be a therapist in a brand new spa in Indian Wells. The property is a few years old and has been waiting for the clubhouse to open. It is beautiful and one of the nicest I have seen. It is smaller but has couple's treatments rooms and outdoor showers and private baths. I will still keep my current jobs but go to on-call status at the Westin Hotel covering shifts when available. I feel honored to have been offered a position at this new spa seeing that they only hired around ten therapists and have never been apart of a new team opening a brand new spa.
I am excited for the upcoming "Season" this year and hope that the economy doesn't hurt my income too much. I feel I made a good decision changing jobs after finding out that the hotel industry is expecting low numbers and huge losses this upcoming year. My manager at the Westin was told that 2009 was going to be worse than 911 for the Hotel industry. So by working at the country clubs I am hopeing that it will be busier--knowing that the clients there aren't hurting like the rest of us.
Living out here in the desert we work alot when the "Season" hits which is when the snowbirds come to town. They start arriving when the golf courses open back up at the first of November and then stay till May enjoying the beautiful weather and top golf courses. So when you are shoveling snow and scraping off windows this winter think of me enjoying weather in the high 80's and driving around with the windows down. Ahhh the life of California!!!!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

I't s Halloween today!! I miss my house in St. George. I used to decorate the house there. But it's just not the same in an apartment. I used to have a little witch hat for Macey but I can't find it this year so I guess we are not really celebrating this year. I broke down and bought a bag of candy for possible trick-or-treaters. But I doubt I will get any knocks at my door and will end up eating it myself.I think I might go to the movie tonight. I really want to see Zack and Miri make a porno--I'm in for a good laugh
I can't wait to see pictures on everyone's blogs of all the kids costumes so remember to post them.

MEAN KITTY

My Mom came to town to visit me for a couple of days. I was happy to have the company but my kitty Mya wasn't that excited. Mya doesn't like anyone but me. I don't understand why she grew up with this unsocial behavior but since I have lived by myself for most of her life I have just dealt with it. Mya actually came out to see my mom and my mom was friendly to her but Mya hissed at her like crazy and growled a little. She went under the coffee table and tried to attack her as she walked by. Luckily she doesn't have any claws but she packs a mean whack with her paw. During the nights she kept jumping up on my bed wakeing me up upset that my Mom closed the bedroom door and then later that night for no reason. I didn't get that great of sleep with weekend but I enjoyed my Mom's visit. I have said that Mya wouldn't last long in the animal shelter if something happened to me because she is so mean--they would just put her down--unless someone would be up for the challenge. Mom and I did some shopping and I took her to a neat speciality grocery store that has decadent cupcakes and items that you can't find in a regular store. The store is super expensive but it's fun to see all the fun things inside. I had to work on Saturday so Mom went to the Cabazon outlets shopping for the afternoon but we later went to the River in Rancho Mirage and went to the Cheesecake Factory--my favorite. I had a great visit with my Mom ---Thanks for coming Mom--Love Ya!!

DIRECT TV SUCKS

When I signed up for a bundle package with Verizon and Direct TV I was going to be saving money and would be getting more channels than with my regular cable. Boy has this been a nightmare. Direct TV was late on their scheduled instalation and had to be rescheduled for the following week. And that day they were an hour and half late. They tried to charge me equipment fees and have signed me up for the wrong package so I am getting charged for a bigger package than I signed up for. I have spent tons of time on the phone with the company and my problem never gets resolved and their response it that the package I signed up for they claim doesn't exist--although I always have the contract right in my hand. I have been so frustrated and have threatend to quit the contract but they say that it will cost me over $340 and I don't have that kind of money. I have now told them I am contacting the better business buearu and will be contacting the company with my complaint. With a glimpse of hope I contacted the guy that signed me up for the package that works for Verizon and he is going to have his manager contact me and get it all figured out. Stating that I should have never even been charged from Direct TV and that the bill should come from Verizon. Crazy huh!!! Be wary of bundeling and special packages. Hopefully this doesn't happen to any of you. All this for the love of TV.

EXCITING NEWS!!!!!!!

Great news is happening here in the Desert. We are getting a Bajio's!!!! It is going to be located in Palm Desert close to El Paseo which is a mini Rodeo Drive. So it will be a great location and hopefully do well in the desert. I know that I will be telling everyone about it and will be the unofficial spokesperson. This is going to make it easier for me to not miss Utah as much. There isn't that great of food out here in California and I'm excited for this resturant to come to town. There are alot of mexican resturants here but they put weird ingredients in their food. I once got peas in my chimichanga and carrots ontop of a smothered burrtito. It's like they have their grandma in the kitchen and she doen't want any food to go to waste and throws what ever is laying around in the food--yuck. I'm just waiting for Cafe Rio and life will be complete.

MACEY LYNNE

We got a clean bill of health at the Vet today. Macey has been panting alot lately and I looked it up on the internet and was advised to take her into the Vet. She is 11 years old and was diagnosed with a fatty lypoma on her chest two years ago. The mass is medium sized and is affecting her breathing while she lays down but her heart and lungs look great for her age. She does have some extra weight on her that needs to come off so we will hit the pavement in the mornings to both get in some excercise. Her food also need to be reduced and we need to cut back on the "good girl treats." Macey likes to go under the bed but lately it has been more difficult for her to get under the side rails. I found her and took this picture. I'm glad she is healthy. She is the love of my life and I don't know what I will do without her. She is my best friend and finding her was one of the best things that has ever happened to me.--Love Ya Macey!!!

SISTERS

My big sis Jennifer. We are only 22 months apart and even though we were dressed the same when we were little we have always been really different. We've both done some mean things to each other growing up like her pulling the chair out from me in church so that I would fall on my butt. And me telling her that I asked the paperboy that she had a crush on if he liked her and told her he did--when I never asked him after she had already called her friends about the news-- Sorry about that. We never really got along growing up and even had to clean our shared bedroom at different times so we wouldn't fight. My mom would always say that when we got older we would be closer and she was right. Jennifer has become one of my best friends. I know that we still don't see eye to eye and she hates me giving her advice--maybe because I'm younger sister but I love her. I try to protect her and will do anything for her--even her naughty little dog Riley. When she was in the second grade there were so many Jennifer's that they had to call her JK. So for years I had to put up with people calling her JK. Her name is Jennifer or I'll except Jenn or Jennypoo and I love her--and her little dog too!!!!

BEST BABYSITTER EVER--so I've been told

So many of you know that on Saturday nights I get the oppertunity to hang out with Tyler and Kyleigh. I'm offically the babysitter but really we just hang out. No need to parent these well behaved kids. We usually go to the movies and to dinner then come home and watch movies. I love hearing about how school is going for them and how Tyler is doing in sports. They also get a kick out of my funny stories of when I was growing up. Tyler is 14 and Kyleigh is 11. I have known them for three years now and have loved every minute of it. It's crazy because their mom is my age and these kids could be mine so it's a trip. But I get the best of both worlds. I get to have kids on Saturday night and then get to go home and be kid free during the week. Tyler is big time into sports and plays on the freshmen football team at his high school. He also plays basketball and went to a special camp during the summer. Kyleigh is into dance and when they have recitals she is in all of the dances. I get most of my fashion updates from Kyleigh because she is in the know about what is hot. Both of these kids are super smart and have excellent grades. So kudos to their parents for raising such smarties!! And we all have a love for dogs--they have three cocker spaniels that I also tend when they go out of town. I love these kids and I get a kick to think that I am helping them grow up to be awesome young adults. Though this past weekend we went to the River an outdoor mall and they both walked ahead of me not wanting to be seen with the "Babysitter." Teenagers I guess???

DREAM CAR

Living in a wealthy part of California I see alot of nice cars. Now I'm not talking about a Mercedes or two but I'm talking about seeing the $650,000 Mercedes. Not many people can say that they see a Bentley on a daily basis but it seems to be the norm out here. I love cars and have always loved driving. When I turned 16 all I asked for my birthday present was a key to the family's Honda. I have tried to go up the nice car ladder that is in my head. Always striving to get closer to my goal of my dream car. A BMW 745 Li This car is huge--so big that I might have to live in it to afford it. One day I will have one. I make that a promise to myself. So for now as I drive my basic Honda Accord (that is almost paid for) I salavate over all the luxury cars that pass me by with most of the drivers being 65+

SUPER SICK

It started with a tickle in my throat on Friday night. Then I slept like crap that evening. I had the crud!!! I had to work Saturday because it was so busy so I doped up on meds and made it through the day. But come Sunday I was bed ridden. I have been in bed for three days now. I ventured out yesterday to run to the post office and realized that I shouldn't be driving. This kind of the crud is the worst because it's just a virus and anti-biotics don't kill viruses. I have to endure the sweats, headaches, and cough with over the counter meds and deal with the fact that no one is around to take care of me. I'm pathetic I know. But it would be nice to have someone around to help take Macey outside and to make me homecooked meals. It's also really weird to be so sick with the chills when it's still in the triple didgets outside--yucky!!!

A CLASSIC

Today I was reminded of one of my favorite movies of all time. I have been wrapped up in the Twilight series and dreaming of "Edward" but today one of my favorite movies was on cable today. Romeo and Juliet with favotie CLaire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio. He is so freaking hot in this movie. He has alot of scenes where he is dripping wet. This may be why he was cast in Titanic?? But what a love story. Great love scenes, great soundtrack, and of course it's Shakespear so you can't go wrong. All that passion with young love. It reminds me of all my crushes growing up. But none of my crushes were as hot as Romeo.

DISSAPOINTMENT

The Twilight book series has been a passion of mine for the last two weeks. I have read all four books and enjoyed three of them. Book number four Breaking Dawn was a 754 page waste. I hated it! Stephanie Meyer should have ended the series with book three. The only thing that I liked about Breaking Dawn was that Bella and Edward finally had sex. If anyone reads the series don't waste your time reading the fourth book. It was too RoseMary's baby for me and turned into more a sci-fi book than a love story. I am excited for the movie to come out in November. I hope that it follows the book. I still have a crush on Edward. I would love to meet a dreamy guy like that.

I'M ADDICTED

So, I'm addicted to the Twilight book series. I got Twilight for my birthday and finally started it Wednesday. I couldn't put it down which was easy since I didn't work that day but I finshed it Thursday evening and I ran out to get the next two in the series. I am excited for the movie to come out in November and am wondering where "my Edward is?" It is a great love story and I love it when I can dive into a good book and forget about my lonley nights. I started Eclips last night and hope to finish the last book in the series in a few days. Then I plan on reading Twilight again--- it' that good!!!!Why am I the last to know about these good books?? Maybe I should join a book club or something.

PERFECT WEDDING

So when the day does come when I meet my Mr. Wonderful and I get to plan a wedding I have only a few requests. I could get married in my parents front yard for all I care but I do want the following for the big day no expence spared. I want a huge cake--like in the $2,000 range. I want it to be the center piece of the event. And I will be having a slice not just a little cut out to taste. I love CAKE!! I also want a huge ROCK of a diamond and I guess that request will come from Mr. Wonderful and I will work on that with prayers that I will meet a guy that can afford a ring that I don't have to pay half for my own diamond. I also want to have a beautiful bouqet and a models body to fit into a wedding dress. I'm not too picky about a dress because I have always hated dresses. The dream of a big wedding would mean alot to me especially knowing that I never went to any of my proms, but I would settle for the big cake and flowers--let's not forget the Hip-Hop music at the reception. Dreams can come true!!!!

Missing Utah???

So I enjoyed my visit in Utah this summer and I'm missing it because of all of the good resturants that they don't have here in California. I miss Cafe Rio, Bajio's and even the simple Taco TIme. I love Cafe Rio's shredded beef salad and Bajio's chicken and green chile salad with the mango salsa. I miss good old Taco Time's crisp meat burittos and their chedder mexi fries. And last but not least Crown Burger. They have the worlds best onion rings and pineapple shakes. So all of you that are in Utah don't take these resturant conviences for granted. There are thoes out there that have to settle for Del Taco. I do have to appreciate that I have In-N-Out, but it still doesn't make up for the chocolate flan at Cafe Rio--yumm yumm. I'm on Atkins so I am craving food right now. Whoever says that Atkins curves you appettite is wrong.

WORST FEAR

So anyone who knows me knows that I am always looking for my Mr. Right. I was getting some dinner tonight at Chipotle and in front of me were these HOT police officers. One had a ring on but the other was ring free. They both said hello and I replied a friendly hello and smile but then realized one of my worst fears. I'm pretty open to different guys and keep my options open but one of my fears is marrying a guy that is a cop--I hate cops. They are always giving me tickets and a hard time. I am not a fan of the badge and have never been much for authority. My other fear is that I meet a guy that has a big snake. Snakes freak me out and I think that they shouldn't be kept as pets. I also don't think they are safe around children and small animals. I have terrible nightmares about snakes attacking my pets. I do admitt to watching shows about snakes finding them interesting but I think it is a coping device to try to get over my fear. I was at a pet shop in St.George once and some of the ginnea pigs were fighting and a lady took one out of it's cage and said it was snake food. I replied" you don't have snakes big enough to eat a ginnea pig?" She replied "go see" and I witnessed a huge snake wrap around this poor little ginnea pig as I was telling the little thing to go towards the light. It was tramuatizing for me. So no Cops and no snake lovers please...... But must love Dogs and unfriendly Cats.

BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION

It is a family tradition since before I was born. The King family is a huge fan of The Young and The Restless. The show is getting so good and they leave the best of the show right at the end. We have been watching it for years and I can keep up on it even if it is just playing in the background. My mom does the same where she can listen to it at her work. Nick is my favorite character and at one point they killed him off and I would have stopped watching it if was true. They have changed major charcters by using different actors but all are pretty true to the part. The lines in the show crack me up and the drama is way better than any other soap as it is more realistic than others--aka Marlana on Days being possesed by the devil. I hope that the tradition will be passed on to my future children and grandchildren---it's that good of a show!!!!

HERE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

The men I dream of the women I aspire to be--I'm on team Britney okay

Did I mention that I live in Paradise???

I live and work in Paradise. Here are picture of where I work. Palm Valley Country Club and the Westin Mission Hills Hotel. Both are beautiful properties with great Spa's. Did I mention that I get golf and Hotel discounts--hint hint!!! I love Visitors. Southern California is beautiful come Fall and Winter when you might be raking leaves and shoveling snow.

HOT NEW FALL SEASON

I am excited for the new fall season of my favorite shows. I was a dedicated fan of the original 90210 and I am excited for the new generation. I love Gossip Girl and was able to catch up during the re-runs during the summer. And let's not forget my love for the Hills--remember that I met Audrina at the Westin Spa. She is super tiny and just as beautiful as on the show

Poor Macey

So, Saturday evening I was taking Macey outside to do her business before I had to go off and watch my kids--like every Saturday. There was another dog outside playing with his owner. At my apartment complex you are supposed to have your dog on a leash at all times. "Scotty" a large retreiver wasn't on a leash but he is trained and comes as commanded. His owner was picking up after him and "Scotty" ran over to say Hi. Macey was over to the side piddling and Scotty was circling me looking for some loves. He is a beautiful dog and very friendly. He plays ball with his owner and they use the open grass area for excersice for him. But as soon as Macey came over to say Hi he attacked her. I have Macey on a retractable leash and I was trying to reel her in and seperate them. I couldn't and started sreaming. Scotty was growling and biting Macey like crazy and Macey was attacking back but Scotty was much bigger than Macey and she didn't have a chance. Scotty had her by the neck and had her pinned to the ground. Scotty's owner ran over and seperated the two and a couple of neighboors came out to see what all the screaming was. Poor little Macey was sopping wet because the sprinklers had been on and was shivering like crazy. I sliced my finger when I was trying to pull the leash and I was really shook up. Scottys owner aploigised and said that he gets defensive when he has his ball--thinking that Macey wanted to take his ball from him. I checked out Macey and she didn't have any bite marks on her. I told Scotty's owner that she was alright and that we were just shooken up. My neighbor double checked Macey and everything was good with the exception of my sliced finger. Scotty and his owner took off kinda fast "tails between their legs" but it was alright. I now know that we need to keep the two dogs seperate. Poor Macey--I think this is the only attack she has had with the exception of fighting with Riley. She is a senior citizen--at the rip old age of 11

I'm getting so smart

I'm getting good at figuring things out on this blog--- Seeing that I have all this time on my hands (I haven't been working) Yes I sit at home all day watching TV and figuring out the computer. I added a playlist on the blog and picked out some of my favorites. I like a wide variety of music. One song on my playlist Crush Crush! is dedicated to my Neice Adi. It is her favorite. So work has been super slow since I got back from Utah --or I should say all summer---Thanks crappy economy.
So Macey and I have a regular routine. It goes like this.... I wake up and call into work with a reply that there isn't any so we go out to piddle and then head back to bed. Waking up at 11am to watch Young and the Restless---I don't think that Victor is dead and why Nikki is waiting for him I don't understand. Adam is a jerk and I think that Nick should knock Jack out. I'm also not happy that Kane married Chloe and can't wait for the true paternity test to be revealed.
Macey and I usually take a nap during Days of Our lives--it always puts me to sleep, and then wake up to Judge Judy yelling at a stupid mother who loaned her son-in -law money who claims it was a gift. My days are boring and super dull. I still go and work out with my trainer Dwight twice a week and try to hit the treadmill a couple of night a week but usually don't make it.
I'm still Soda Pop free. It is quite an acompishment seeing that I was drinking a ton of Diet Coke a few months ago. I think my kidneys are thanking me. I remember as a kid we used to have our own "Maverick Mugs" and walk up to the Maverick store a few blocks away and for .26 we would fill our mugs with out favorite soda that would last all day.
Macey and I usually hit the hay about 10pm and watch Sex and the City and then follow up with some Will and Grace. Boring days and lonley nights--some day it will change--untill then I have my new computer and my best friend my TV.

I love Utah but I don't want to live there anymore

I had a good vacation in Utah. It was good to see family and celebrate my 33rd Birthday. Another year older but a another year realizing that I have a pretty good life. It was fun spending time with Adi and Kohen. Adi is super smart and knows what she wants. Mom and I watched them one night and we took them to the park. We drove their van and even with Adi trying to help me I couldn't figure out how to work the DVD player--sorry Adi. Kohen is getting big and is more friendly. I also got to visit with Grandma King. We celebrated a birthday party together. It was her 94th. It was good seeling extended family. I got a new laptop for my birthday and have to send out special thanks to Juline for helping me figure it out and helping set up my blog for me. Now I just need to start taking pictures with my camera that I am not the familiar with and start blogging. I do miss Utah but I am now realizing that I am a California girl now and I love my accomplishments that I have made down here. Especially being down here by myself without family. Here are some pictures of the party we had in the park for Grandma King.
